ARIZONA JOSHUA TREE FOREST

Northwestern Arizona High Desert The Arizona Joshua Tree Forest can be found near the west end of the Grand Canyon just east of the Lake Mead National Recreation Area. It’s nestled on the Grapevine Mesa between the villages of Meadview and Lake Mead City, and lies just west of the colorful Grand Wash Cliffs that tower over the eastern edge of the forest. Vacationing on the eastern side of the Lake Mead Recreation Area or traveling northeast from the city of Dolan Springs to the Grand Canyon West Skywalk, you will pass through this amazing high desert forest of unique Joshua trees. The forest is located 43 miles southeast of the Nevada state line off Arizona highway 93 on Pierce Ferry Road.

Discover South Cove

Discover South Cove This is where the Colorado River exits the Grand Canyon and starts to form Lake Mead. Located on the eastern edge of the park near a Joshua Tree forest, South Cove is one of the park's lesser known getaways. From here, you can launch onto the lake and venture out to numerous sandy coves. Boating, swimming, fishing, hiking, BBQ, and more.

Fisherman's Landing

Visiting Meadview, you need to be sure to stop into Fisherman’s Landing to get a bite to eat and something to quench your thirst. Fisherman's Landing offers nice happy hours, shuffleboard, billiards, and full of awesome music for all ages. They offer packaged liquor, ice, and an improbable variety of snacks and soda, all great for a trip to the lake or your Meadview RV Park site. This eatery is a tremendously clean, friendly, inviting environment.

Grand Canyon Zip Line

Ride the Sky. Satisfy your need for speed on 3,200 feet of zip line, sure to get your heart pumping and your adrenaline rushing. You’ll soar 500 feet above the floor of a spectacular side canyon as the terrain rushes by. With two runs and four lines per run, you will be able to enjoy the ride with friends and family as you race down the zip line reaching speeds of up to 40 mph.

Helicopter Tour

Helicopter Tour Fly in a Helicopter directly from the Grand Canyon Western Ranch and experience a 20-25 minute flight through the grand Canyon that gives you an up close view of Guano Point, Eagle Point, and the Skywalk. You will be approximately 2,000 feet below the rim of the Grand Canyon giving you breathtaking views over the Colorado River. You will also see Joshua Trees and other cacti with the possibility of some elk or wild horses. Your flight will then return to the Ranch where other activities and amenities are available for your enjoyment.

Climb aboard a covered wagon drawn by two beautiful Belgian Draft Horses. Go back in time as you follow the old Mormon trail like the pioneers did long ago. As you climb through the Joshua tree forest your cowboy guide will fascinate with tales of the history and wildlife of this historic ranch. On arrival at Buffalo Point you will be in awe as you get your first views of the majestic icon of the west, the Buffalo. Having the opportunity to see these animals that used to roam the plains in their millions and hear the story about their near extinction at is an experience of the west definitely not to miss. From over seventy million animals to under three hundred in 25 years is a near extinction story as important to share with your family as the story of the whales. Sunset Horse Ride Option: Includes an extended ride, cowboy entertainer serenading you with songs of old and a champagne toast or soft drink at Sunset Hill. It is the perfect Arizona moment that you will never forget looking west with the sun setting, the silhouette of buffalo's and views of the mountain ranges stretching on most days over 100 miles. Grand Canyon Skywalk

Soaring four thousand feet above the Colorado River, the Grand Canyon Skywalk is a modern marvel that offers visitors breathtaking views of this awe-inspiring natural wonder. Showcasing the canyon and all of its rugged majesty, this one-of-a-kind glass bottom bridge is an experience like no other. The u-shaped observation deck stretches seventy feet beyond the canyon’s rim. Although it appears to be floating on air the structure is rock-solid. The Grand Canyon Skywalk is built to withstand an eight point zero magnitude earthquake, so it definitely built with structure strength in mind.
